For 18 years I was a professional mountain guide and expedition leader, primarily in Alaska, the Yukon and Russia. I led trips up Denali, Elbrus among others. I have been published in Outside, Backpacker, Trail Runner and Coast Magazines, as well as authored the book, "North by Southeast" a non-fiction on life in small town Alaska.
